Social Work
In strictly secular terms, a social worker promotes social change, problem solving in human relationships and the empowerment and liberation of people to enhance well-being. Utilizing theories of human behavior and social systems, social work intervenes at the points where people interact with their environments. Principles of human rights and social justice are fundamental to social work.
The church has a long history of responding to those in need. Care for children, the sick, the aged, as well as rehab for alcoholics and addicts are just a few examples. Latin America Mission is committed to working with and through local church leadership to develop ministries that respond to social problems. If you have experience in social work (or interest in learning more), we would love to help you find the right ministry fit— connecting your gifts and calling with the needs of the Latin Church.
