Scripture Union of Peru
Founded in Peru in 1927, Scripture Union (Unión Bíblica) is part of an international evangelical movement that works with local churches to help children, youth and families know Christ through his Word. Scripture Union aims to encourage people of all ages to encounter God daily through the Bible and prayer, that they may know our Lord Jesus Christ personally, grow in Christian maturity, and become faithful members of the church and servants of a world in need.
Scripture Union of Peru works in six areas:
- Abandoned Boys - Our team rescues, restores and redeems abandoned children in Peru. We currently operate six children's homes throughout Peru.
- Bible Ministry - Encourage people to know God through his Word.
- Deaf Ministry - Deaf teachers and the deaf community work with deaf children to help them learn their culture and and sign language.
- Medical Ministry - Assisting the poorest of the poor by providing medical and dental care on two ships that travel the Amazon River and its tributaries.
- Schools and Camping Ministries - A Christian values program where hundreds of volunteers and a motivated team bring the gospel to hundreds of state high schools around the country of Peru. This is complemented by summer youth camps.
