Alexis and Nicole (George) Pineda

Medellin, Colombia

Alexis and Nicole (George) Pineda serve in Medellin, Colombia with the Fundación Brazos Abiertos (the Open Arms Foundation), a ministry that reaches out to street children and children-at-risk. Alexis is from Barrancabermeja, Colombia, and Nicole is from Potomac, Maryland, USA. They met while working together at the Foundation’s home for rescued street boys and were married in December of 2008. Their son, Joel, was born in August 2010.

The Open Arms Foundation has three homes for children to help them leave behind drugs, sexual exploitation, and other horrors of the streets: the Boys' Farm, the Casa Helena Girls' Home, and the Pregnant and Parenting Girls' Home. We know that Jesus Christ has the power to restore lives, and this is the goal of the Foundation. Open Arms also has a Church with two sites that reach out to families and children in the poor neighborhoods in order to prevent more kids from ending up in the streets.
