Brenda Burney

Mexico City, Mexico

Brenda graduated from Grove City College in May 2006 with a double major in Elementary and Early Childhood Education and an emphasis in Spanish. After college, she got a job in an elementary school working with children with disabilities such as cerebral palsy, autism, and various learning disabilities. She also enjoys teaching Sunday School and Junior Church and regularly joins her church in going into the city to minister to the homeless.

After being out of college for four years, God started to tug Brenda’s heart back toward missions. She had gone on a number of short-term trips in college, including a summer in Bolivia in 2005, and started praying about a career in missions. In April 2010, she felt God telling her it was time. She is excited to join the 2011 – 2012 Spearhead YearOut program and is looking forward to serving God while learning more of the Spanish language and culture.
