Carolyn Deemer

Mexico City, Mexico

Carolyn grew up in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, the oldest of 5 siblings. She graduated from Cedarville University in May 2010 with a double-major in Spanish and music. Pursuing a love of God, the Spanish language, and Latino culture, she went to Mexico for Spearhead’s summer program in 2009.

She felt lead to return for the 2010-2011 YearOut program and worked in a community development organization while simultaneously serving the local church. She served as a summer facilitator and was thrilled to be a part of challenging others in many of the same areas that God had been working in her own life. As Carolyn sought where God was leading her after Mexico, she became convinced that she should stay in Mexico for the 2011-2012 YearOut program. This year she is blessed to be working with youth in Mexico, through campus ministries, her church, and even helping to lead this year’s trip to Honduras over Holy Week. In addition to her Mexican ministries, Carolyn also is serving as a YearOut facilitator within Spearhead.

Carolyn would appreciate your prayers for God to stretch and strengthen her for her new leadership roles this year. She also asks you to join her in her constant prayer that God would be glorified through her life and that she might be a blessing to others wherever God sends her!
