Wanda and Guillermo Mejia

Medellín, Colombia

Wanda and Guillermo Mejia met when Wanda was serving with Latin America Mission in Colombia at the Colegio Latinoamericano. They were married in 1981. Guillermo was a career diplomat with the Colombian Foreign Service, where he reached the rank of Ambassador. He finished coursework for his Masters of Arts in New Testament at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School, and is teaching New Testament at Seminario Biblico in Medellín. The Seminary trains students in its five-year undergraduate program. Established in 1944 and firmly committed to the fundamental truths of historic, biblical Christianity, it functions within a broad interdenominational scope.

Wanda and Guillermo strongly believe that equipping would-be pastors with solid theological foundations is critical for a church that faces complex challenges of "buffet-type spiritualities" in an area with severe socio-economic inequalities and so many who have suffered the scars of violence. Their passion is to bring helpful insights to would-be-pastors that combine Biblical Theology with practical experience from the socio-economic world of the marketplace and politics.

They have three children: Will, married to Stephanie (4 children); Erika, who teaches at the International Christian School in Singapore; and Lili, a student at Wheaton College.
