Jonathan and Rocío Mikes
Mexico City, Mexico
Jonathan and Rocío Mikes work with La Fuente, a young church in southern Mexico City. La Fuente seeks to serve the Coyoacán area while including friends from all parts of the city. Beginning with just a few people in the corner of a coffee shop, La Fuente has grown steadily and now attracts a wide variety of people who participate in a wide variety of activities. The mission of La Fuente is: Know God, Serve the Community, Invite to a Faith Adventure.
Jonathan also serves as director of Fusion Mexico, a project that connects students and young adults from Canada and the United States with opportunities in Mexico. The focus of Fusion is intercultural experiences and community service. Both La Fuente and Fusion are products of a partnership with the Alianza Cristiana y Misionera.
Jonathan is a graduate of Duke University (B.A.), Gordon-Conwell Seminary (M.Div.), and Fuller Seminary (Th.M.). Rocío has a degree in optometry and started various small optical stores in northern Mexico City before dedicating herself fulltime to family and to the work of La Fuente. Jonathan and Rocío have two small children, Sara and Daniel.
