Kate Bruder

Lima, Peru

Kate is excited to be serving in partnership with Scripture Union Peru.

Scripture Union is a Christian organization that works with local churches to help children, young people and families know God through His Word. SU Peru is currently working in five country-wide ministries: a Bible use program; a unique ministry to abandoned boys, known as Programa Girasoles; work with the hearing impaired; a growing schools and camping program where staff teach Christian values; and an innovative medical outreach located in the Amazon Basin.

Kate first became involved with Scripture Union through a short-term trip in 2001 at age 15. Since 2001, she has returned to Peru each year as a short-term volunteer, and during the 2008, 2009 and 2010 summers, spent time hosting and translating for the volunteer work teams that come to support SU’s ministry programs.

Kate is from Dearborn, Michigan. She is a graduate of Alma College (in Alma, Michigan) where she received degrees in Spanish and Mass Media Communication.
