Pablo and Bertha Lavado

Lima, Peru

Pablo and Bertha Lavado are currently working in Peru with Union Biblica (Scripture Union of Peru).

They are responsible for the abandoned children ministry called Programa Girasoles (sunflower program). A total of seven houses strategically located in cities in Peru, have been built to date. Integral care (shelter, food, clothes, health, education, recreation and both psychological and spiritual advice) is provided to 40 children in each one of these houses; additionally, personal, social and technical skills are developed with those who are about to become independent citizens. Two axis drive the integral focus: education and spiritual.

Pablo, as Programa Girasoles Director, is in charge of leading, instructing and shepherding the persons responsible of each one of the houses; he is also responsible for the spiritual lead of the whole Program. His work includes periodical trips to each one of the houses in order to ensure children´s well-being. Bertha works very closely with the wifes in order to cheer them and give them spiritual advice.
They need you to pray for the three houses that are about to be opened in different cities in Peru and for each one of the children that shall be reached by Girasoles Program. They also need you to pray for the people who are currently supporting and sponsoring the Ministry and for any new sponsors that may being contributing in order to reach the recommended level of support by the Mission.
