Shaw and Sharon Yount
Shaw and Sharon Yount and their two daughters, Jenna (12) and Michaila (13) live in Balfate, Honduras. Shaw and Sharon are medical doctors working at Hospital Loma de Luz on the northern coast of Honduras.
They are involved in reaching people for Christ through meeting medical needs, also called hospital-based evangelism. Many people who will not come to a church will nevertheless come to a hospital in times of medical need. There at the hospital they have the opportunity to share the gospel message with their patients along with a Honduran chaplain-evangelist. The people of Honduras are open to the gospel and possibly even more so when they are sick.
In addition the Younts are involved in ministry in a local Honduran church. Sharon also home-schools Jenna and Michaila.
They ask that you pray for good medical work and good patient outcomes, fruitful hospital and church ministries, medical licensure for the doctors and the hospital, additional personnel needs (nurses, x-ray tech, home school teacher), unity and healthy relationships among missionaries, family well-being, and safety.
