Stephanie Vitabile

Mexico City, Mexico

Stephanie was born and raised in Long Island, New York. She graduated from Hunter College in Manhattan with a degree in Sociology in 2008. During her college years she began to follow Christ and also developed a love for Latin America and the Spanish language after spending time in Costa Rica and Peru.

In June of 2010 she came to Mexico for the Spearhead summer program and then stayed in Mexico for the YearOut Program. She spent the past year working at an adolescent boy's home called Ministerios de Amor. Her main role was assisting the social worker, but she also taught English classes, led devotionals, and spent time hanging out and discipling the kids. This year in Mexico has confirmed her interest in missions and has given her a passion to work with children and adolescents in need.

Starting this fall Stephanie will be involved in a ministry called El Pozo de Vida (The Well of Life), which is a refuge for adolescent victims of sexual abuse and sex trafficking. There she'll live on site and help contribute to the general well-being of the girls, implement services provided by the refuge, and assist in the social work area. She hopes to be a spiritual influence by sharing the Gospel and expressing Christ’s love.
