Sue Givens

Lambaré, Paraguay

Sue Givens is a missionary with Latin America Mission since September 2000 and is serving in Lambaré, Paraguay, a city near the capital.  She is from East Canton, Ohio and graduated from Ohio State University in the area of Special Education.  She served for twenty-five years as a special education teacher, supervisor and principal serving children of all ages with varying types of disabilities.

God spoke to Sue’s heart to help long time friends, Mark and Johanna Waltz build a school in a poor area of Lambaré.   She began her ministry and Spanish studies in the fall of 2000 as well as helping with the school development.  New Horizon School opened to fifty-two children in February of 2001.  The school currently serves over 650 children (Pre-School-tenth grade).  In 2013 when the school will host the first High School graduating class. The majority of the teachers and staff are Paraguayans and the vision of the school is to prepare well-educated Christian leaders who are guided by Christian values and the Holy Spirit.   Sue and her team have witnessed many miracles as God is changing the lives of the people in the community and throughout Paraguay.
