Tawa & Laura Sauñe
Tawa comes from a family of missionaries and pastors in Peru, many of which were martyred for the sake of spreading the Gospel among the Quechua. Laura also grew up in Peru as a missionary kid. Though they lived in different areas of the country eventually God drew them together and united their love for the people of Peru. Laura graduated from Columbia International University, in Columbia, South Carolina, in December 2011 with a degree in Theology and International Community Development. Tawa will graduate from the same university in May of 2013 with a degree in Theology, International Community Development, and Business.
Tawa and Laura desire to return to Peru and will be working with Runa Simi, a faith-based organization whose mission is to reach the Quechua people of Peru with the Gospel of Christ. Runa Simi does translation work with Scriptures and Scripture material. They train pastors, and distribute and promote Scriptures throughout the Quechua world. They have a literacy program that trains Quechua, especially women how to read, so they can study and understand the Bible for themselves. Runa Simi also seeks to reach the illiterate with the Word of God by creating and promoting audio and video Scripture materials. Finally, they have a discipleship program for women and children, to deepen understanding and faith.
