Will and Elaine Savell
San José, Costa Rica
The Savell’s are living in Costa Rica with the purpose of being involved in leadership development and pastor training in under-resourced areas of Latin America. They first will be attending a year of language school at The Spanish Language Institute in San José, Costa Rica.
They have two kids, Emma (7) and Jack (4), and grew up in the South. Will was born and raised in Jackson, MS and Elaine in Memphis, TN. They met while attending Mississippi College in Clinton, MS and have been married for 11 years. They both worked on staff in youth ministry at Grace Evangelical Church in Germantown, TN for 9 years. Before leaving for the field, Will served there as the Young Couples and Men’s Minister and Elaine was a stay-at-home mom preparing the family to leave for Costa Rica.
Elaine graduated from Mississippi College with a BS in Accounting and Will graduated with a BA in History and a minor in Spanish. He also graduated from Covenant Theological Seminary in St. Louis, MO with a Masters of Arts in Theological Studies. They have a passion for the gospel and have loved serving in ministry and on mission trips in the United States, Costa Rica, Belize, Guatemala and Honduras.
Their early ministry years were spent at their church Grace Evangelical. This began in January of 2002 as Jr. High youth ministers. From that time the church provided them with an education from Covenant Seminary distance program. While trying to handle the hurts and separations that youth, their parents, and other adults will go through, they were able to apply all that they were learning from school in their church ministry.
